The Ride of My Life Podcast - Update - Short Hiatus to Regroup

What an incredible year and a half it’s been. I liken this moment to a triumph over trauma that I experienced throughout my life and the journey I took over the past year mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually to heal from it. It has been an incredible time and challenging at the same time in facing my biggest fears and learning how to regulate my nervous system in the process.

I am a highly sensitive person, so much so, I have the honor badge (lol) of having 26 out of 27 of the traits. In the past, when things overwhelmed me like having and argument in a relationship or feeling unloved from the developmental trauma, I would immediately dissociate to protect myself (my little girl).

I had begun to be able to tell in November of 2021, the difference between my body reacting to stress and my Soul watching the whole anxiety scenario play itself out. That was the turning point for me when I decided that I would go full in deep to learn how to regulate and do the work it took to get there. Some of the processes I used were kinesiology, EMDR, somatic, movement, chiropractic, acupuncture, going out in nature for hikes and grounding, meditation, sitting with my emotions and allowing them to cycle, release and flow and the big one of recognizing that I need to talk out loud to myself or friends to figure things out and make decisions and to let them know of my needs. Oh and boundaries. I’m sure there is more but that is part of what I’m working on next to share with you.

I feel calmer now and when something comes up it no longer creates the feeling of insanity it did in the past.

This video is to share that I am taking a hiatus for a week or two from the podcast to reorganize and that this is also a personal journey and I need the time to recoup and regroup from the drive and to continue this healing journey to understand what my next step is.

I am excited about this part of the shifting of myself and my business and look forward to what’s next.

What an incredible journey this is has been. I am back in Florida from going through my process and the deep dive into my healing journey from trauma. I can tell you that the journey never ends but the results along the way are amazing. I have very few flashbacks now and if I get one, I am able to deal with it with my tools. My nervous system is healing because I can tell that I don't react or dissociate anymore, I just sit with whatever is coming up for me. This is so empowering. My hope is for all who have experienced trauma that you can witness for yourself freedom in your life.

Why is it that we want to control?

When it certainly does take its toll,

On our souls into the inner parts of myself,

and I am working to bring her off the shelf.

When I know my own truth,

Then I can choose,

How I work with my inner children,

The answers inside no longer hidden.

She used to go into the closet to hide,

Because she knew not that I could provide,

Reparenting her and giving her love,

Requires me to become the transfer of,

The parents that she never felt she had,

Coming home to myself, I am mom and dad.

She did not get what she deserved,

So, she created the construct of being unnerved,

What she deserved, as we all do,

Is feeling nurtured, loved and wanted too.

But if our parents did not know how,

Then we have to take that on right now,

As adults it’s our responsibility,

To take care of our needs and have accountability.

We have the power, yes we do,

No matter what we’ve been told, here is the truth,

Trust in yourself, the answers are there,

You know who you are, you just need to dare.

To connect with what is really real,

That which is inside your heart, what you feel,

Although we have been told something different,

The truth is our feelings are deliberate.

For us to move through our lives,

Especially in the moment and how deep inside,

We know who we are, we must just begin,

To start that journey out of our minds, to win.

The love we have always looked for out there,

And finding out no one really cares,

There’s a reason for that, they have their journeys too,

We need to know that life begins with you,

It’s not about them, it’s about who you are,

And discover inside that rising star.

While on the road heading back to Florida, met some amazing people who are sharing their love and gifts, for healing and connection on this planet and raising consciousness.

In this video, I am interviewing Ethan Vincent who owns Barefoot Gardens, a Camp/Homestead and Learning Center in Vilonia, AR. I stayed the night there on my way back to Florida and was given a tour around the Homestead. So many cool things going on from classes to chicken release to making stone jewelry among other things. I only stayed one night but I am looking forward to the next opportunity where I can stay longer. What a great family and place!

Faith in all things, this is what we are told,

To help us and allow our life to unfold,

The challenge with faith, if we don’t trust ourselves,

Is like walking into a storm, that which compels.

us to assume the faith is out there,

In some far-off place of which many are not aware,

I feel we should know, the faith is deep inside,

And we must release the past, to find where it resides.

Today I have found the relinquishment of fear,

Holding onto generational trauma was keeping me stuck here,

It always had me looking out there,

For the things I am now finding, I can now declare.

The faith, the trust, the love surrounded by,

My Higher Self, on which I can rely.

There is also grace that sits in me,

Waiting on that chance to be free,

From the fear, hurt and trauma I’ve held for so long,

The more of which I release that helps me be strong.

To allow that darkest part of yours truly,

to know light is coming, and now I know she,

has always been in there, no need to roam,

In me she will always find a home.

Yet the biggest thing here that I have learned,

No matter what I thought or have been told, nor what I’ve yearned,

I cannot find the things I seek elsewhere,

It’s coming home to myself; it dwells in there.

There is the faith! There is the truth!

That I dismantled from my youth,

She knew not better, now she does,

The most incredible thing there is Self-Love!

What an incredible journey this is. Learning more and more about what faith is and how it works. I talk about my experience with my mother two years prior to her death and my road to forgiving her before that and since. That mother wound has been difficult for me but I am learning more and more about real unconditional love and self-love through it. I have been building on my faith for a long time now and I am finding these shifts in my experience from traumas throughout my life are so amazingly healing. Thanks for being here with me.
